My Cutie Pie

Yesterday my husband was talking to my dad. My cutie pie went to him saying that he wants to talk to  తాతయ్య(Grandpa). Once he got the phone, the first thing that he said was “ I am 2yrs old. I have to go to school.” (He will be turning 3 in one month). I was totally surprised and asked him who told that. He said he himself said that.

After that, I had to send an email to offshore and was logging in; my husband asked me if I have any meetings. My cutie pie answered that he has meeting. When asked with whom he promptly replied  తాతయ్య. Wonder what special issues he had to discuss!!!!

Varalaxmi Vratam

Last Friday, Aug 20th was Varalaxmi Vratam. For the last 2 years, my MIL was here on this special day and it was fun doing pooja with everyone at home. Hmm I miss my parents though…

Anyways coming back to the topic, I was always interested in these special days from my childhood. It used to be fun with all members of family taking up one task and getting the house and deity ready for Pooja. Major help for my mom was my sis. My sis used to prepare everything for the pooja. After her marriage me and my brother helped my mom, but it was difficult because we never knew what has to go where and what needs to be done….Can you believe that I mixed kumkum as well for akshintalu ?????

That was me then and now I made everthing myself all alone…cleaned up the house (Got some help from cleaners but after they are done, I had to clean the house twice or thrice for one reason or other , so according to me it was me who did the cleaning finally) got all the groceries, prepared all the naivedyam (సెనగలు,పులిహోర, గారెలు,బూరెలు, పరవన్నం,పానకం,వడపప్పు ) I wanted to do some more items but ran out of time so had to go for preparing the diety.

My MIL decorates the coconut with eyes, nose, ears and mouth. This time I wanted to do it and brought a big coconut as well but ran out of time as I had to get my kitchen back together after the pest control that was done. So I went with the simplest way of tying the varalaxmi roopu on the kalasam. So, I finally started doing the rangoli with rice flour, turmeric and kumkum. Once done I poured the rice and kept betel leaves and went to kitchen to get the Kalasam and by the time I came back my cutie pie son has done one more rangoli on the same one using kumkum , poured the rest of rice and was adjusting it on it!!!!

I was in a hurry to finish my stuff and shouted on him …I should have let it go and controlled myself.. I will always feel bad for shouting on him.. He just wanted to help me….Love you kanna…..

Coming back to pooja , so finally I set the deity, got all the prasadams ready and sat for the pooja. It was 2 O’ clock by the time I was done…. But it was satisfactory….I did it all and I did it well

Questions!!!!!

Most of the times I am a confused soul when it comes to relationships and life!!! Multiple thoughts keep going through my mind as to why Life is so complicated or are we making it complicated??? Which one is correct…? Why do we misunderstand some people? Why do we try to overpower our relations parents, siblings, spouse or kids or anyone…. Why can’t all go hand in hand….

I do agree there are lots of differences in the way people are brought up or the environment in which they live, then why can’t people understand or empathize with others feelings when they are different. Why can’t they let go of their egos and be one family….

There a lots of questions which I have to ask myself…. Why I did that, why I didn’t do that….why do I have to do it etc., hopefully will find an answer someday but wish that day comes soon than later.

Why Rumblings.........

Rumblings…. Word which I used sarcastically many a times!!! Now am using the same to collect and put my thoughts together on a blog!

I have been thinking of starting a blog for long but never had the time to put it into action.
Finally I gave it a little push and the journey started……

Rumblings was the word which came to my mind as the name and the reason why goes here:

I wasn’t sure what to post on the blog whether its going to be cooking (as most of my friends do) or just my thoughts and if my thoughts what all can I post online was a big question….

So to answer all my questions and to put my thoughts into actions, I started my blog… deciding to jot down whatever I like….
